Compear: It makes a lot of cents
Compear is led by two moms who hate the hassle of grocery shopping every week: figuring out lunches and dinners for the week, putting a list together, then going to two or three stores to find everything you want at the best prices.
One night, Allison found herself with three different grocery store website browser tabs open on her computer trying to figure out what to buy and where before heading out to do the grocery shopping circuit.
It was the 2023 version of what her parents had done each Sunday by looking through the grocery circulars. It was then that she thought there should be a way to leverage technology and make the process quicker and easier.
Allison texted Sara to see if this is something she would find useful—and they haven’t stopped working on it since!
They are so excited to launch Compear and help others save time and money. And, they are even more excited about all of the new features that will be rolling out over the coming months!
Meet the Team
-
Allison Little
CO-FOUNDER
Allison is the mom of two girls, 7 and 4. As a child, she remembers her parents going through the Sunday paper to pull out the different grocery store circulars to see what was on sale to plan dinners for the week and determine where to shop. Money was tight and sales mattered.
That idea shaped the way she would go grocery shopping as an adult. However, between working full-time, parenting, and trying to maintain some sense of balance, grocery shopping has become a toss up between going to one place and spending a fortune or spending hours getting everything.
Allison hopes Compear can help everyone save time and money to make grocery shopping a bit easier.

Sara Ho
CO-FOUNDER
Sara Is a mother to four young children and leans into the laughter and chaos alongside her husband and a petite menagerie of furred and feathered pets. Beyond her busy home life, she is an active volunteer in her children’s schools and a local nonprofit foundation, providing support to teachers and young families alike and organizing events that drive community engagement.
Running a large and active household means grocery planning and shopping is an endless, massively time consuming chore as well as a tremendous expense. A recovering coupon clipper, Sara often found herself making painful tradeoffs between budget and time, sacrificing savings for the convenience of shopping at one nearby store.
Comparison shopping her entire grocery list, app by app, store by store simply took too long when there were a thousand and one other things needing attention! So when Sara’s friend and fellow preschool mom, Allison, reached out with the idea for Compear, Sara was ALL IN! Saving time AND money? Yes, please! Why should busy families have to choose?
